SVP Creative Director
Alex Harman is a creative storyteller who brings brands to life. It starts with a passion for finely crafted things. Vintage biker rings. Timeless cowboy hats. Classic cars. His personal collections reveal an exceptional talent for curating things that delight, inspire and provoke a reaction. It’s how he positions brands for massive appeal, using a blend of design and media to leverage digital, experiential, over-the-top and out-of-home strategies.
As Creative Director, Alex leads the Flux creative team to consistently produce brand identity, marketing campaigns and creative content that resonates with target audiences, driving them to buy, share and love the experience. His background in both digital and traditional branding makes him an invaluable asset across a wide variety of projects.
His smart ideas show in Fiji Water, Pom, Wonderful Halos, Live Nation and dozens of other brands he’s touched. But it’s his easy-going personality that makes him the kind of guy everyone wants in the room.
Alex gives great brands great stories. A natural born leader and all around good guy, when not in the studio you can find him by the beach or road tripping with his wife and their two dogs.
Karen is passionate about growth— creative, professional, and personal. She gets her creative inspiration from living every day in a mashup of Los Angeles’ natural splendor and the urban landscape around our DTLA studio. Her extensive experience traveling the globe, fused with a passion for art history and architecture, work like a headlamp that shines a clear path forward. An adventurer with an eye on the past, always on the prowl for what’s happening now, she knows where things are going next.
At Flux Branding, Karen is the spark of energy that elevates the creative bar higher. A quintessential beach girl who earned her stripes in the UCLA design department, she’s a true force of nature who transforms ideas into visuals that are a delight to behold. She is a passionate strategist, artist, and visionary who knows how to balance big-vision thinking with attention to detail. And although she might blush if you mention it, she has an excellent smile.
Chief Creative Strategist
Jamie likes making things. Example: he loves making dinner. He’s the kind of guy who’ll whip up something great with whatever’s around. This isn’t about following a cookbook – it’s about following instinct. He understands how to please the palate while engaging the senses of even the most detached diner.
Jamie’s approach to branding, marketing and advertising is similar, leveraging every ingredient from a company’s pantry to create new opportunities and achieve business objectives. It’s a bigger approach that forces those around him to expand their thinking, while positioning clients to be far more proactive than reactive in the marketplace.
Having cut his teeth in a number of successful (and a few failed) ventures, Jamie brings a sense of realism to the table with a gift for helping businesses accommodate growth and understand growing pains. More than just problem solving, his consultative style reflects his prowess in the studio, the boardroom, and on the pitcher’s mound guiding several nationally-based companies to triple digit growth and softball league dominance.
How did Jamie get this way? He’s the kid of an artist and a doctor with an equal command of both the left and right brain. And along the way, he developed impeccable taste and style. Whether it’s corporate identity, brand positioning or marketing strategy, the results are delicious. Clients taste it. Employees enjoy it. In fact, everyone can almost savor it. And if you want proof, just try his brisket.
Coming to Flux after running the in-house agency at the Cosmopolitan Hotel, Tonia is our studio manager extraordinaire. Flux is a complex machine, and it takes a bright mind to keep all the moving parts running smoothly and in time. Tonia ensures we’re on schedule and on track, while coordinating all things between our team and our clients. She keeps us to our deadlines, but her bright and positive personality is what keeps us happy to come to work everyday. Tonia’s adaptability and problem solving skills help make creative ideas into tangible realities. When she’s not at Flux, you can find her applying those same skills on stage as a competitive improve artist.
Olivia is a copywriter and creative brand strategist thinking up big ideas and bringing them to life through language. Apples don’t fall far from the tree, but they do travel around the globe. Starting with a degree in creative writing, Olivia learned to communicate by living around the world. A semester abroad in India. Fulbright in Taiwan. Master’s degree in Italy. Make no mistake, her talent isn’t purely genetic. After years of sharpening her pencils, Olivia has the ability to develop strategic brand copy that does more than communicate information. She tells stories.
With almost a decade of creative project management under her belt, Jouliette sees projects through from initial idea to final delivery. With a background in graphic design and digital marketing, she knows every phase of the project lifecycle from the inside out. Jouliette comes to us after working with multiple international agencies, based across the globe from Argentina to Canada. Now in San Diego, she knows how to get things done and keep everyone on task while always lighting up our days with her beautiful smile. When she’s not helping creative work take shape at Flux, you can find her traveling, going to the beach, and hanging out with the cutest baby in the world, her three year old daughter Alma.
